Age Concern Halton

Information and advice service for older people

An Opportunities for Volunteering grant from Attend help Age Concern Halton to set up and expand their Information Service.  The free service is provided in Halton Hospital by Volunteers working as part of the hospital team. The service offers advocacy, information and advice on many issues affecting older people.  They offer Drop-in sessions and pre-booked appointments at the hospital, as well as home visits for those who are housebound.

Their advice has had life-changing effects for many of the service users.

"I would have been floundering for a  long time. The people in the office were friendly and sociable, rather as if we had popped in for a chat. We felt completely at ease, very sympathetic staff."

'I wouldn’t have got my wheelchair with out them. I think they do an excellent job."
