Art Workshops for people with Mental Health and learning difficulties

Moor Arts

Moor Arts was awarded an Opportunities for Volunteering (OFV) grant by Attend to help  improve the services they offer. It has allowed them to expand the number and variety of group creative arts workshops they provide with the aim of helping people with particular health difficulties.

Moor Arts works with local hospitals and day centres catering for those with mental health issues to provide workshops in the Arts, these workshops include; creative  digital activities,, music, mosaic and willow work. Volunteers support service users in the workshops, helping them to develop their own personal and artistic skills.

The OFV grant has helped Moor Arts to recruit volunteers for the worshops. They have been particularly successful with young and unemployed volunteers, many of who have gone on to paid work, thanks to the skills and experience gained through volunteering.
