Clyst Caring Friends

A helping hand and a friendly face

Clyst Caring Friends were awarded an Opportunities for Volunteering grant by Attend to help expand their services.
The Friends care for people in the areas covered by the Pinhoe Doctors’ Practice. They offer a helping hand through a range of services.
The Home Visitors offer friendship and support as well as practical help, they can collect shopping and pensions, give Carers a short respite and even take service users out on an outing. The Friends Car Service takes people who have trouble using public transport to and from doctors and hospital appointments. The Friends run a Day Centre which enables people to continue to live an independent life at home for as long as they wish to do so and supports their Carers. The Drop-in Centre allows people to have a chat over a cup of tea and there is a Luncheon Club once a month for those who are normally housebound and their Carers.
