Mental Health First Aid
Who: This course is for everyone with an interest in supporting people with mental health issues in the workplace, in the community and within families
What: Our two day course qualifies you as a Mental Health First Aider accredited with MHFA England.
On completion of the course Mental Health First Aiders will have:
An in depth understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect wellbeing including: Anxiety, Depression, Suicide, Psychosis, Eating Disorders, Self Harm, Personality Disorder and building a healthy community.
Practical skills to identify triggers and signs of mental health issues and to build confidence to support a person in crisis
Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgemental listening and communication
Knowledge to help someone recover their health by guiding them to further help- whether that’s self-help resources, through their employer, the NHS, or a mix
How, where and when: Numbers are limited to 16 people per course so that the instructor can keep people safe and supported while they learn.
This is an interactive course and through a mix of group activities, presentations and discussions, each session is built around a Mental Health First Aid action plan.
A comprehensive Mental Health First Aid manual is provided to all attendees to keep. This contains a wealth of information about mental health and is a great source of reference following the course.
Courses can be booked to be held in your own facilities or at our London offices and can be delivered during usual working hours or at weekends. We can deliver both days back to back or separate them according to your preference.
Qualification: Mental Health First Aid certificate accredited with MHFA England
