Leading in a Volunteering Environment

The Leading in a Volunteer Environment (LiVE) programme is designed to both support those new to leading volunteers and to provide the opportunity for structured reflection for those who have been responsible for leading volunteers for some time.

The programme has been awarded ‘Development Programme’ status by the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM), and candidates who complete are awarded a certificate plus one year’s membership from the ILM.

LiVE consists of a series of workshops that allow candidates to consider a range of key issues related to leadership, and each workshop is tailored to the volunteering environment. Topics covered include:

For whom it is suitable

All those working with and leading volunteers, including line managers, supervisors and team leaders, who wish to develop good practice, that is quality assured and recognised by the Institute of Leadership and Management.

Delivery methods

Discussions and workshops led by approved Attend Academy tutors, with supporting case studies, group and individual exercises.

Certificates:

  • Bronze programme – attending 3 or 4 workshops
  • Silver programme – attending 5 or 6 workshops
  • Gold programme – attending 7 or 8 workshops
