Decision making on behalf of others

The law allows people who no longer feel able to look after their own affairs to assign somebody to make decisions on their behalf at a later date.

Whether it’s due to mental health issues, dementia or brain injuries, many people do not have the mental capacity to make their own decisions. Life can be difficult without the capacity to carry out decisions such as writing a cheque or making decisions relating to medical treatment for oneself.
