NVQ's in Personnel

Academy Illustration

What the qualification is:

These programmes are accredited by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). The programme is tailored to those managing volunteers in that all aggressors and advisors have experience in this field and that all discussions focus on voluntary management. Each candidate has to demonstrate competence in 12 NVQ Units. Some are mandatory and some optional.

Those completing the NVQ level 3 and 4 programmes qualify for 'Associate' membership of the CIPD.

Those completing the NVQ level 5 programme qualify for 'Licentiate' membership of the CIPD.

How the programme is delivered:

This is an 'assessed' programme rather than a 'taught' course. Each candidate will have an allocated 'Assessor' and an allocated 'Adviser'. Over the period of 9-12 months the candidate will meet with their Assessor every six weeks or so (for approx. two hours). The meetings can take place in the candidate's workplace. The 'Assessor' will seek to identify development areas and help the candidate to develop their working practices to meet the relevant NVQ standards.

Also, the NVQs do not require the candidate to put together a portfolio of evidence as the assessment follows a 'professional discussion' format. Also, there is no requirement for candidates to submit assignments or sit examinations.

Who it is suitable for:

The courses are designed to cover for a variety of levels of responsibility, from anyone supporting the delivery of HR procedures either as part of a HR department or working alone to support managers, to management of HR and developing HR strategy within an organisation.

Resources provided:

  • All professional advice and assessment.
  • Programme handbook.
  • Telephone help-line.
  • On-line and hard copy resources.
  • A nationally accredited qualification.
  • Enthusiasm and encouragement.

Assessment:

All work is assessed by Attend Academy CIPD-accredited assessors. The CIPD also approve completed candidate files.

Course Costs:

The total cost for the course is £1,950 all inclusive of any course material and tuition fees. The only further cost is with an optional membership with the CIPD.

How to apply:

The start of the course can be arranged to suit the candidate schedule. If you are interested in applying for this course please email academy@attend.org.uk
