The Mental Health Learning Network (MHLN)
MHLN is an open forum which provides the opportunity for Attend members and other outside organisations to share best practice information and strategies.
It can enable members to promote and participate in key local, regional and national activities and events, raise the profile of theirorganisation, respond to consultation documents, and help shape policy. Most importantly, the network is a tool to assist in raising the profile of mental health and to ensure that there is a forum for people working with volunteers across mental health services.
Since the network began, over 500 groups have joined, over 120 documents have been circulated and around 200 events and activities have been promoted.
To provide the best possible support to our members, we believe that it is vital to promote volunteering and support our member’s interests. By offering expertise in mental health we aim to ensure the essential contributions made by our groups towards local services are recognised.
From the network coordinator
Networks have been delivered across each Government office region over the last two years and at the present time a Virtual Network is under development. However whilst work is in progress, information is continually being sent out and best practice examples continue to be shared to interested groups.
Membership is free but to qualify your organisation must have some interest in volunteering. If you are interested in this network and the opportunities to promote your organisation and learn from each other, please let me have your full contact and address details and I will be happy to ensure you are added to the database to enable you to receive the full benefits of belonging to this unique network.
