Attend AGM 2014

The AGM 2014 took place on 10th December at Attend offices in Cavendish Square

On 10th December we held our Regional Teams Day and Annual General Meeting at our offices in Cavendish Square.

In the morning, Richard Harries, former Chairman and Deputy Directory of Reform, a Think Tank helped us with some 'blue sky thinking' about future national economical strategies and how that might impact on health. Key discussions focused around:

  • The delivery of health and social care coming together
  • Increasing pressure on finances creating new ways of working
  • An aging population
  • There will be an increasingly diverse number of providers for voluntary sector organisations to work with
  • The need for volunteering to become more systematic including training for volunteers

In the afternoon, Anthony Mercier and Leianne Ishmael-Walrond presented the Acquired Brain Injury Project. This included one of the clients, Chris, telling his story

The AGM was chaired for the first time by Lord Naren Patel of Dunkeld, and delivered in a very relaxed and enjoyable way. David Wood gave a tribute to Baroness Miller, former Chairman.

As part of the agenda, the following appointments to the Board were made

  • Michael Dover  - reappointed
  • Mathew Swan - reappointed
  • Christina Cameron - appointed
