Communities across East Hampshire hit the Jackpot!

Thanks to the support and advice provided by Community First East Hampshire (CFEH), groups in that area have secured over £1 million of funding to support local community activity during the last year.

With free help provided by the Big Lottery funded “Rural Outreach Project” groups have been able to access support to find finance opportunites, prepare funding application forms and access specialist advice to ensure groups meet the requirements of potential funders.

By working in partnership with nearly 700 local groups, funding has been secured for local sport clubs, older persons groups, youth groups and to improve local amenities.  Many new groups have accessed CFEH services to help them start-up such as the Adhurst Estate Allotment Group a fantastic local site which enables members to grow their own fruit and vegetables...

David Petche from the allotment group commented that “CFEH Outreach has helped Adhurst Estate Allotments Association find funding opportunities and their up to date listings of new grant opportunities have been most helpful."

Community First have been working closely with Butser Ancient Farm to secure funding towards their new ‘Janus’ visitor centre.  This has resulted in a number of successful bids and Mary Saunders from Butser Ancient Farm added “CFEH have been really supportive, providing in-depth advice and help with submitting application forms. Thanks to CFEH we have just been awarded over £10,000 of lottery funding. Their help has been invaluable”.
