Diamond Anniversary For Hillingdon League of Friends

The League of Friends for the Hillingdon Hospital is 60 years old!

More than 50 existing and retired volunteers of the Hillingdon League of Friends joined together recently to celebrate the milestone of 60 years of their charity with a fantastic afternoon tea generously funded by a local business, John Guest.

The Hospital’s Chief Executive and Chairman, along with local MP, John McDonnell all praised the amazing work volunteers do raising funds for Patient Equipment.  It was noted that the first gift to the hospital was 3 hairdryers which cost of total of £10 (a big amount back then!)  Much has changed in the world but the work of the League is constant.

Currently funds are raised through 2 shops, the ever popular Tea Bar in Outpatients and the Baby Boutique in Maternity, this has enabled the charity to fund Patient equipment to various departments totalling on average £40,000 per year.
