Accounting for Charities

There have been significant changes within the charity sector recently.

This includes an update to The Statement of Recommended Practice: Accounting and Reporting by Charities (SORP) and a release of a new Charities Act. 

Threshold changes

The 2005 SORP remains in force with a few amended changes to threshold limits. The following are the current requirement for an incorporated charity.

Total exemption applies to a small company for annual income of less than £90,000 and a balance sheet totals of less than £2.8 million.
