The term personal data refers to information about a living individual, from which that individual is identifiable.

Personal Data
The term personal data refers to information about a living individual, from which that individual is identifiable. It is probably best to assume that all information about a living, identifiable individual comes under the umbrella of personal data. This can include expressions of opinion.

Data Controller
This is the person or organisation that controls personal data and makes decisions as to how it is stored.  It is the
responsibility of the data controller to ensure the regulations under the Data Protection Act are adhered to.
