Confidentiality policy template

A confidentiality policy says a lot about your organisation, and reflects your attitudes towards staff, volunteers, the public and your stakeholders.

Often volunteers have direct access to clients and their information. They build up relationships with clients based on trust. Groups/Organisations have a Responsibility for the Safety of Clients. It is this aspect that gives rise for the need for clear policies. Volunteers may not be able to keep a secret, or respect a confidence if the person is subsequently at risk.
